Remembering Athlyn Horswill
Just before Christmas, we suddenly lost a dedicated volunteer and friend, Athlyn
Athlyn was active with TRACS as a volunteer, cat foster and board member. She was also a member of CDART (Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team).
Though she was involved with the TRACS Rabbit Project, her true love was cats. She was active in working toward spay/neuter release for feral cats as well as fostered her own family of special needs cats which are at various levels of being feral. She spent incredible amounts of time working with them and many are now able to accept human touch.
Athlyn’s Angels were taken from her home with the aid of CDART and with open hearts Critteraid in Summerland has now given the family of 10 cats the opportunity to stay together as a unit at their sanctuary. These cats have been through a lot, most coming from terrible situations before finding Athlyn. They need each other right now, and with some of the cats being seniors or having health issues they will also have the expertise of the Critteraid volunteers to keep them healthy. A true blessing.
Athlyn had a huge heart and loved all animals. The difference she made is unmistakable and she will be remembered by all with a smile in our hearts.
We would now like to honour Athlyn by accepting tax deductible donations to aid
in the care of her Angels.
If you would like to make a donation which will go directly to the ongoing care of her cats please mark “Athlyn’s Angels” on your cheque, or donate through the PayPal button below, and the funds will go directly into an account for the kitties. If you would like to enclose a card we will arrange to forward to the family.
Rest in Peace Athlyn,
your Angels are safe.
