2011 Critteraid I Heart Animals Banquet
The 3rd Annual I Heart Animals banquet is taking place on Friday, February 11th at the Penticton Lakeside Resort starting at 6pm, and we hope that every one of you will come out and support our parent organization, Critteraid, for this event!
2010 was an extremely challenging year for Critteraid financially and it is our hope that you will come and celebrate this organization (which CDART receives the majority of our funding from), as well as fall in love with some fabulous silent auction items that you may just have to have.
This year's recipients for funds raised will be:
- Summerland Cat Sanctuary
- Dog House Division
- Feral Cat Nanny Program
- Pasture Animals
- CDART (Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team Project Croc Talk)
- Education Program/Legacy Fund
In addition to a scrumptious vegetarian dinner (meat options available upon special request), silent auction, raffles and draws, Joy Caravello of Joy Caravello Petography will be there to do portraits of you and your pet by donation. We will also be having a Best Pet Tricks Contest, so if you're furry friend can do something special, register early (call December Foster at 250-488-2223)! The evening will be hosted by CJ, Sun FM host of the Afternoon Drive. Guests will be treated to the amazing talents of Ryan Schick on the grand piano.
Our Guest Speaker is Cheryl Rogers, CDART National Coordinator. Cheryl is going to speak to everyone about the things they need to know during a disaster response/emergency. We will be living with these types of events for the rest of our lives, and by knowing the basics and having you and your family prepared, you will find comfort in knowing just what to do if anything should ever happen.
If you're coming from out of town and would like to stay the night, be sure to ask Penticton Lakeside Resort about the special room rates they're offering for this event.
Tickets for the banquet are $35 and are available at Pet
Pantry in Penticton, Licks & Wags Doggy Bakery in
Summerland, or by calling 250-493-9752.
We will be posting regular reminders for the banquet, and tease you with some of the items we already have, like the watercolour of Barkerville or the Paintball adventure.
Well-behaved pooches are welcome to attend!
